  • Applicants must be owners or descendants of Tūaropaki Trust members.
  • All applicants must meet the specified eligibility criteria.

What are the eligibility criteria?

To be eligible for a Secondary Education Grant, you must:

  • Be enrolled in NZ Year 11, 12, or 13 (or AU Year 10, 11, or 12), or the foreign equivalent.
  • Be attending classes regularly.
  • Be an owner or a descendant of a Tūaropaki Trust member.

How do I apply?

Applications for the Secondary Education Grants are currently closed and will re-open in 2025. When open, you can apply online from 1 March to 8 April. Ensure your application is complete and submitted by the closing date, as incomplete or late applications will not be accepted.

What documents are required?

When applying, you must provide:

  • Birth Certificates for you and each generation to the Owner/Whānau Trust.
  • Owner or Trustee’s Photo ID (must include signature).
  • Confirmation of Enrolment letter (including student’s full name, year level, and primary caregiver/s registered with the school).
  • NCEA record of the previous year (if applicant is Year 12 or 13).
  • Verified bank account details.
  • Signed Declaration Form.

When can I apply?

The application period for the Secondary Education Grants is from 1 March to 8 April, 2024. Make sure to mark these dates on your calendar and prepare your documents ahead of time.
