Tūaropaki Trust (www.tuaropaki.com) is an Ahu Whenua Trust under the auspices of Te Ture Whenua Māori. There are more than 2,700 Owners, a mix of individuals, Whānau Trusts and Kaitiaki Trusts, all descended from the original Owners. The Trust is a kaitiaki for ancestral taonga and manages complex business interests in the food and energy sectors, with assets valued at approximately $1 billion.

Te tūranga | Your Role

As the Payments and Transactions Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of financial and payroll processes across the organisation. Reporting to the Payments and Transactions Manager, you’ll ensure all transactions are completed accurately, efficiently, and on time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure smooth and accurate financial processing across accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations.
  • Prepare and process payment runs, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Manage international payments and related documentation.
  • Provide support and backup for payroll processing.
  • Handle customer and supplier inquiries via phone and email with professionalism and efficiency.
  • Assist with general administrative and finance-related duties as required.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Integrity and the ability to manage confidential and sensitive information.
  • The ability to work effectively and maintain accuracy under pressure.
  • Previous experience in accounts payable and/or receivable.
  • Payroll experience preferred (but not essential).
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • A flexible, adaptable approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience with TechOne / CiA preferred (but not essential).
  • Experience with Smartly Payroll preferred (but not essential).
