Te tūranga | Your Role
As the General Hand (Support Services), reporting to the Kaiwhanake Whenua Manager, you will play a pivotal role in assisting with grounds maintenance, equipment operation, and farm projects. You will have a strong work ethic, a passion for farm work, and a willingness to contribute to the farm’s success.

Responsibilities:

  • Vermiculture: Assisting in the vermiculture process, including moving waste from the factory to the vermiculture site.
  • Grounds Maintenance: Mowing and maintaining grounds to a high standard.
  • Sump Maintenance: Managing sumps on-site and stone traps.
  • General Farm Work: Performing general farm tasks, including relief milking as required.
  • Feeding Out Silage: Winter feeding on the station and providing relief on other farms.
  • Farm Maintenance: Monitoring the water system (checking troughs and water connections), maintaining races, and assisting with other projects as required.

To excel in this role, you will bring the following experience and skills:

  • Experience in operating tractors, machinery, and general farm tasks.
  • Gardening skills.
  • Preferably some experience with fencing and water systems.

You will thrive in this role if you are proactive, adaptable, and have a positive ‘can-do’ attitude. Most importantly, you will be a collaborative individual who integrates seamlessly into both the Station and Dairy teams.
