Tūaropaki Trust is an Ahu Whenua Trust under the auspices of Te Ture Whenua Māori. There are more than 2,700 Owners, a mix of individuals, Whānau Trusts and Kaitiaki Trusts, all descended from the original Owners.

The Trust is a kaitiaki for ancestral taonga and manages complex business interests in the food and energy sectors, with assets valued at approximately $1 billion.

Te tūranga | The role

Tūaropaki Trust is recruiting for a Head of Energy, with the recruitment process being managed on our behalf by an external recruitment partner January Group.

This newly established senior leadership role will be responsible for the strategic direction and operational performance of Tūaropaki’s significant energy investments across power generation, steam supply and network infrastructure.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Head of Energy will have direct accountability for the performance of our energy portfolio, while also helping identify future opportunities and build strong relationships across the energy sector.

We are looking for an experienced energy professional with strong commercial capability, sound knowledge of the electricity market and regulatory environment, and ideally geothermal experience.

This is a significant opportunity to help shape the future of Tūaropaki’s energy portfolio and contribute to long-term, intergenerational value for our owners.
