Tūaropaki Trust (www.tuaropaki.com) is an Ahu Whenua Trust under the auspices of Te Ture Whenua Māori. There are more than 2,700 Owners, a mix of individuals, Whānau Trusts and Kaitiaki Trusts, all descended from the original Owners. The Trust is a kaitiaki for ancestral taonga and manages complex business interests in the food and energy sectors, with assets valued at approximately $1 billion.

Te tūranga | Your Role
Reporting to the Strategy and Investment Manager, the Strategy and Investment Analyst is a newly established role created through recent organisational changes. This position is responsible for supporting the team to deliver its corporate finance, investment, strategy and reporting obligations through analysis and insights.
Key Responsibilities:
- Construct and maintain robust financial models and forecasts to support operations, compliance, and investment opportunities.
- Contribute to investment analysis, sector reviews, and asset performance evaluations.
- Contribute to industry sector research to inform strategy and decision-making.
- Prepare insightful and timely periodic reports on the Trust’s portfolio and asset performance.
- Assist in the development and execution of corporate finance and commercial projects, including investment and divestment activities.
- Provide expertise directly to the Trust or its investments as required.
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:
- A tertiary qualification in finance, mathematics, or business
- 1–4 years’ experience in investment, banking, corporate finance, or consultancy
- Solid financial modelling and investment analysis skills
- Experience supporting investment and divestment transactions
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines
This position will be based in Taupo or Wellington, with some business travel required.
